"Big Mac" - Massimo Maccarone

In April 2006, heading into the second leg of the Europa League Semi Final, Middlesbrough found themselves 1-0 down to Steaua Bucharest. The following 90 minutes were some of the most entertaining in European football. Middlesbrough dominated, but Bucharest took their opportunities, and in the 89th minute, it was 3-3 on aggregate with Bucharest going through on away goals. Bucharest try to counter, but pressure from Stewart Downing forces a turnover. Downing now has the ball on his favoured left wing, and with 2 touches, he gets away from the defender and whips a lovely ball in. As he does, Massimo Maccarone is darting into the backpost, and with a diving header, makes perfect contact with the ball. It's 4-3, and Middlesbrough are heading to the Europa League Final!
