George North (Lions)

2013 in Melbourne, with space tight and nerves tighter, George North took a loose ball from Brian O’Driscoll’s through-the-legs pass and met Israel Folau head-on. Instead of being dragged down, he somehow stayed upright and, lifted the towering Wallaby onto his shoulder and marched him backwards, ball still tucked in. Folau tipped over, the crowd gasped, and for a few seconds it felt like playground rugby on the biggest stage in the world., that surreal, utterly defiant carry lives on as pure Lions folklore.
